One Day I Will Write a Memoir...

If only I could begin to describe the drama that has transpired in my life over the last month. It is on the decline now, slowly subsiding in its intensity, but September turned out to be one of the most chaotic and overwhelming months of my life. I tend to be a catalyst for drama, so my goal was to manage it and not create it. I left those who were not a part of it out of it and now that i have a handle on things I want to close this chapter and embrace October with positivity and renewal.

And that is all I want to say about it. It's done.

There is so many positive things happening right now. My girls at gymnastics are a month deep into Fall training, every day I coach my 5 year olds they make me laugh with their uncensored commentaries. We have one of our top Senior girls Ashley Quinton heading off to Eastern Michigan University next Fall on a full gymnastic Scholarship. That is such an honour, especially as a Canadian athlete. Ashley is a smarty pants too, so she will have a great University experience as a Varsity athlete.

I am also super excited about an upcoming FAME Fitness competition coming up on October 17th for which I am helping out a few girls. Michelle who is a co-worker of mine has been training and dieting with me for her first show. She will be doing Fitness, so she has to do the routine portion and totally rocked it tonight in the studio. She is totally committed and has done this whole process with no complaints and no excuses. Another lady who I have had the pleasure of knowing - Gloria, has been working with me for the routine portion for the Fitness competition as well. She is an amazing energetic and positive woman in her 40s who is taking on the challenge of learning gymnastics and doing her first fitness competition this month. Both of them are inspirational hard workers and show day is going to be awesome!

At home, my little boy is a whopping 20 months old now. He is still a busy devil-child that insists on his own way, but he is absolutely hilarious and sweet at the same time, so it is difficult to stay mad at him for long! Right now we do Gymboree and Gymnastics. He is definitely physical, we just need to work on our listening skills... A LOT!!!

For myself and my training - I have been in limbo since the summer, not crazy but not consistent with anything. I am starting a new program that is totally different from anything I have ever done beginning tomorrow. It will be a great experience for me not only because my body should respond quickly but also because I am inspired by new things and I love getting new ideas for my boot camps and classes! I never want to have my classes doing the same workout more than once. Some of them see me 4 days a week, so I am up for the challenge of always keeping things interesting! Watch out ladies!

Anyways, that's my update after a month off - yay for October!

    Laughing

I love when I can't stop laughing over the dumbest things, and they don't stop being funny! Ever!

To any of you who do not have the pleasure of working with children and teenagers - you are seriously missing out! The young ones are always a riot, and so cute, but the older ones were the girls making me laugh today!

Some things lose their essence when retold - as this probably will - but there is a 14 year old whom I have known and coached since she was around 6 (in her long sleeve green bodysuit with her blunt cut bangs!) She is an interesting and hilarious girly-girl who is always put together and so very organized - I just love her! So, on with the story, early on in the warm-up I turned around and she was RIGHT beside me and I didn't realize it. We laughed because it was creepy, but then to be immature on my part, we looked for several more opportunities to be creepy and show up beside each other unknowingly throughout the training. Every time we did it or came close to doing it, it was hysterical. It was just one of those things that is so stupid it ends up being funny.

To top it off, I was laughing to myself about it in my van about to pull away after work and my phone beeps and it is a text message from her saying "Hi Tanis (whisper)"

    Hilarious!

Anyways - just had to share that! Today was a great day overall. Bootcamps started, I had an awesome group of ladies who are ready to work hard. Fantastic opportunities are coming towards those who deserve them, and it was once again a beautiful day out and I went for an hour long walk with my little boy. He held my hand the whole time, we walked at his pace and had to look at everything along the way but it was super fun just to slow down and hang out with him.
